Cacciucco: POV Italian Cooking Episode 100
The aroma that emanates from Cacciucco cooking on the stove is only bested by the taste! In this episode of POV Italian Cooking, I make Cacciucco, an Italian fish stew that originated in the coastal towns in the Tuscany and Liguria regions. While Cacciucco shares it’s origin with Cioppino, in that these stews were made by Italian fisherman with the portion of their catch that was too small sell or that just didn’t sell that day. The primary difference is that Cioppino was said to be created in the 1800’s by Italian immigrant fisherman in San Francisco.
Cacciucco translates “odds and ends” or “bottom of the boat”.
I hope that you enjoy this fisherman’s stew in the 100th episode of POV Italian Cooking!
