Rose McGowan says Tony Robbins still needs to do better after his critical words about the #MeToo movement.
In a March 15 seminar in San Jose he stated, “If you use the #MeToo movement to try and get significance and certainty by attacking and destroying someone else you haven’t grown an ounce.”
“It makes my heart race, because it’s very triggering actually,” she explained, in reference to Robbin’s views on the movement. “You know, what people don’t understand or talk about in all of this is bullying. They seem to think they, like, reserve that for school or something like that. I’m like, that man is a bully, and he’s abusing his power.”
Robbins was also criticized for an anecdote he gave about a very powerful man who didn’t hire an attractive woman he interviewed, who was more qualified than her male counterparts, because it was “too big of a risk” having her around.
“Instead of him, Tony Robbins, having a life moment there and saying, ‘Hey friend, guess what? I’m going to correct your mental course here.’ Instead, it’s like, ‘Oh yeah!’ There’s something about, also, you know, there’s something called imposter syndrome. And I believe men, overall, suffer from this,” McGowan explained. “Before they were, know had boots on the ground, they were told they’re better."
