I was never bored in 2016, but I definitely was board. Oh man, that was bad. I think I'm going to jail for that one.

My big 2017 write up: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1spf9rp

Just for fun, here are three honorable mentions that I wasn't able to squeeze into the video:

Pandemic Legacy:
An incredible co-op campaign that builds off of the already great Pandemic, adding new rules with every game in the campaign that really change how you play. You write on the board, you add stickers, you tear up cards forever. Didn't make this list because it technically released in 2015, but it was probably my favorite gaming experience of the year.

Captain Sonar:
A real-time (it can be played turn-by-turn but real-time is the way to go) submarine battle game where two teams of 4 use dry-erase boards to control various functions of their subs. It's unique, and creates some amazing conversation material. The reason I left it off my list is because I was only able to play one full 4v4 game this year, which I believe is the best way the game should be played.

Arkham Horror: The Card Game
Combines two of my favorite things in gaming: cooperative adventures and Netrunner-style "you have 3 actions per turn but a ton of options". You build custom decks, earn better cards with experience, and often have more than one way to solve a given challenge. I just got this game for Christmas, so I didn't have enough time to play it for a review, but it's already left a really positive impression on me.
