Gaming can be a difficult thing to get into, particularly with having SO many options available to see, buy, and play. Where do you start, and why? Well, that's what I want to try and help with in this video. I'd originally done a top 5 starter video, and wanted to expand on it for you all with this new one. For this, I wanted to focus primarily on mechanics. Board gaming has dozens of possible central game mechanics, with huge variants in play styles and progression. So how do we select them?
In this video, I talk about 10 great games that can serve to represent particular mechanics in board gaming. They're readily available, relatively inexpensive, generally simple to play, and serve well as introductions. As always, though, I'm curious what your folks' thoughts are on the topic. What are your favorite games to start off with, and why? Do you like the idea of going by mechanics, gameplay, or what? Please let me know in the comments!
