How to make a high Q (=quality factor) antenna coil for Shortwave 2 MHz-10 MHz demo
How to make a high Quality factor (“Q”) Shortwave antenna coil for the range 2-10 MHz. Every necessary info is in the video.
The ideal tuning capacitor bridging this coil is 150 pF.
The ideal capacitor (to the top of the coil) when you use a long wire (!) antenna (say 10 meters outside) outside is 14 pF. You can make a tap on the lower part of the coil and connect the long wire antenna with a 14 oF capacitor to that tap for more selectivity (that not always works, by the way).

On 5.52 I talk about bridging that coil with variable capacitors higher than 150 pF. That is far from ideal. The Q will drop, for lower frequencies (lower than 2 Mhz) it is better to make another type of antenna coil. Many video’s about that are on my YT Channel.

When my video’s are reproduced or re-edited on other websites/channels you can not (!) be sure about the original content (=really working electronics with real properties for a purpose) and important adaptations to the circuits.
Be aware of that, I saw on the internet my circuits reproduced in a poor or not proper way.
I also found that people probably republish my circuits under phantasy names and/or with phantasy properties, not knowing electronics. Sometimes they want to find gold with them. I take distance from all these fake claims; I cannot help that it happens, sorry. Upload 11 oktober 2019.
