Greek Style Green Beans with Michael's Home Cooking
Here is my recipe for Greek Style Green Beans. These would go with any meal and are a delicious change.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 of small onion chopped fine
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3 cloves of garlic chopped fine
16 ounces green beans
14 to 16 ounces tomatoes
salt/pepper/water
Add 1/3 cup olive oil with the onions and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Cook slowly over low heat until onions are soft.
Add your oregano and garlic and cook 2 minutes over the low heat.
Add rest of your ingredients and water to come up 1/2 way up the green beans.
Cook till most of water is gone.
You can cook at a higher temperature now, but as water get low, turn down the heat.
*NOTE* In the video, I had some water left in the green beans. I cooked them just a few minutes more and cooked off 99% of the water. I like them better as shown with some of the water left, but the green beans were still great with only the oil left and juices are less likely to spread on your plate. That may be a plus for some.
Thank you for watching
