How to make the best Greek Moussaka!
Moussaka is the most popular recipe of the Greek cuisine with vegetables, mince meat and bechamel sauce. This is my recipe for the best authentic greek moussaka you've ever tasted. It's easy and you can make it yourselves at home! Just follow my instructions and secrets to success! Kali orexi!
Serves 8-12 people. 7 medium potatoes, 7 medium courgettes (zucchinis), 5 medium aubergines (eggplants) cut 1 cm thick. For the minced meat sauce: 800 gr minced (ground) beef, 200 ml tomato puree, olive oil, 1 big onion chopped, 3 gloves of garlic chopped, salt and pepper, vegetable stock, 1 cinammon stick (optional), ground pimmento, 2 bay leaves, a bit of water. For the bechamel sauce: 7 tablespoons margerine, 14 tablespoons of flour, 1 tin of condensed milk, 450 gr of water, 400-500 ml of fresh milk, 1 egg, ground nutmeg, salt and pepper, 1,5 handful of grated hard cheese (preferable greek kefalotyri).
