MO’ FUNNY: BLACK COMEDY IN AMERICA (HBO, February
9, 1993). This special program chronicled the history of black comedians from blackfaced comics in Vaudeville to the Def Jam generation of the 1990s. Seen were Charles Dutton, Della Reese, Norma Miller, Paul Mooney, and Donald Bogle. Archival footage of the following was featured: Eddie “Rochester” Anderson, Pearl Bailey, Louise Beavers, Willie Best, Godfrey Cambridge. Bill Cosby, Redd Foxx, Whoopi Goldberg, Dick Gregory, Robin Harris, Hattie McDaniel, Mantan Moreland, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Moms Mabley, Dewey “Pigmeat” Markham. Timmie Rogers, Sinbad, Damon Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marsha Warfield,
