How To Do Zombie Makeup
Happy Halloween! This is a special Holiday posting from The Slanted Lens. It's a departure from our usual subject matter as Teri Groves of Make-up Magic lays out a step by step look at how to do Zombie make-up. It was fun to watch lovely Katie Lohmann become a zombie in three different stages from just dead to just really gross nasty dead. It's a really good idea to understand the make-up process as a photographer. It gives you a good idea of the time needed and how it can help you tell your story. The images we shot were shot using a very simple light set up. It was overcast outside as we shot our zombie so we used a gold silver reflector to give some life, so to say, to her face. I shot with a 200mm lens to throw the background out of focus. I also dialed the color balance to 4500 degrees to cool the look of the image.
