We all suffer from 3 bad postures: here is why correcting your habits is the key to fix your posture
85% of us suffer every year from lower back pain, neck pain and headache, shoulder blade pain, etc. Why? Because we misuse our body every day, throughout our daily activities.
Unfortunately, most of the treatments and therapies out there will only fix the symptoms: relax the back muscles, stretch the levator scapulae, strengthen the abs, release the sternocleidomastoid, etc. What causes neck pain or what causes back pain is your habits: what you do with your body, the ergonomics at work, this kneeling chair which you shouldn't have bought, etc.! If you don't fix your habits, how can you get rid of the pain?
Don't take me wrong: muscle exercises aren't useless... I use them too. But their effect will be only on the short term if you don't get good ergonomics at work and at home, if you don't improve your body awareness, if you don't understand the body mechanics in your daily activities, if you don't change the exercises that you do, etc. This is why I have created online posture programs.
I will also show you that we all suffer from 3 typical wrong postures that cause muscle pain, but also joint pain, tendon pain, nerve impingement, etc.:
- rounded shoulders, forward head, slumped in the mid back (upper cross syndrome)
- slouched posture when sitting
- hollow back posture when standing (lumbar lordosis).
