What Are Electric Bike Classes? Pedal Assist, Throttle, Speed Pedelec
https://electricbikereview.com/guides/electric-bike-classes/ Electric bikes come in many shapes and sizes but there are three distinct "classes" that help us categorize how and where they can be used. In this video, I discuss Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 ebikes with Chris Nolte from Propel Bikes in Brooklyn, NY. Class 1 is the most common in Europe and quickly catching on the the USA because it requires pedal input to activate which is a great fit for trail riding. Class 2 uses a throttle (trigger or twist style) and performs more like a scooter or moped. Class 3 is called speed pedelec in Europe and is also pedal assist activated but may travel above 20 mph so that riders can reach their chosen destinations more quickly. It's a highly sought after class for commuters and those riding for sport on road. EBR was paid to perform this review #Sponsored We try to be honest, thorough, and fun!
