http://electricbikereview.com/hp-velotechnik/scorpion-fs-26-s-pedelec/ The HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS 26 S-Pedelec is a full suspension, pedal assist only, recumbent style electric bike capable of ~28 mph top speeds. Designed to work with up to two battery packs for increased range, great for commuting and touring. Available in two frame sizes (standard or wide track) with adjustable boom and seat, semi-foldable, compatible with a wide range of adaptive accessories for riders with special needs. Premium drivetrain components, integrated rack, fenders and lights, limited availability in the US.

The HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS is a full suspension recumbent electric bike. It’s is a premium setup designed for power and speed, the motor is a gearless direct drive design with power regeneration (two levels!) and there’s room for two batteries for doubling range (one battery offers 36 volts with 15.5 amp hours). This is a German design that qualifies as a speed pedelec and may require licensing in parts of Europe. With 27 speeds (a 3x9 drivetrain) you can climb or maintain higher top speeds efficiently with a steady cadence. Recumbent bicycles tend to be more efficient because they are more aerodynamic. I love that the LED lights are wired right in and run off of the main battery pack. There are two sizes, I was on the 32, for larger riders the 36 offers a wider track footprint and allows you to raise the seat (which might make the ebike easier to mount for some riders). This is a pedal assist e-bike but there is a walk mode to help you get started or navigate at slow speeds (and even a reverse walk mode). The display on this bike is amazing, it’s Bluetooth compatible to work with mobile devices. EBR was paid to perform this review #Sponsored We try to be honest, thorough, and fun!
