Learn how to introduce two dogs to one another!

In order to build strong relationships with your pets, you want to take your time introducing them and make their interactions positive by rewarding them with treats and praise.

Introduce your dogs in a neutral place away from your home such as a park or a neighbor's yard. By doing this your resident dog is less likely to view the Newcomer as a threat to its territory.

Put both dogs on a leash and make sure each dog is handled by a separate person.

Begin by walking past each other and avoid walking straight towards each other. Move closer each time to create a sense of comfort. Increase the distance of the dogs if they show any signs of fear or aggression.

Never force the dogs to meet or interact!

Once the dogs are comfortable, let them sniff each other. Continue to reward them for good behavior.
