Have you ever wondered how to make your own homemade vegetable crisps, but haven't been sure where to start? We show you how quick and simple they are to make, and by being baked rather than fried offer a healthier alternative to traditional shop-bought crisps.

INGREDIENTS

- 1 carrot
- 1 beetroot
- 1 parsnip
- 1 sweet potato
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste

METHOD

1. Preheat oven to 200°C.

2. Peel vegetables and slice on a mandoline using setting 1 or 2.

3. Place crisps between two layers of kitchen roll and leave for 30 minutes to absorb excess moisture.

4. Add all the crisps to a large mixing bowl and add the olive oil, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Combine well.

5. Arrange in one layer on a non-stick baking tray and place in the oven for 6-8 minutes, turning once. Repeat process until you have baked all the crisps.

6. Remove from the oven, season again and place onto a wire cooling rack to crisp up and cool.
