Money Can Buy You Happiness And Here Is Why
In this video I will be answering the age old question of whether or not money can actually buy you happiness so make sure that you watch this video until the end because the answer just might surprise you.
1. Money is considered to be the solution to basically any problem that the world can possibly throw at you. Money is seen as the golden ticket! Now even if you aren’t completely unsatisfied at the moment when it comes to your career or your income you can always go onto social media and see 14 year olds who have become wealthy off of tiktok and so called gurus who show you how they have made 40 million dollars in 2 hours and now they are selling a course on how you can do it too. Social media basically serves as a constant reminder that money can definitely enhance everything around you, buy you nicer things, and allow you to enjoy your quality of life just that much more.
2. Well when it comes to this question I would say without hesitation money can literally buy you happiness. Not in the sense that happiness can be bought but I am someone who believes that money give you the freedom to be able to do whatever it is that makes you happy. So in this scenario yes money can buy you happiness.
3. CNBC released an article citing a study done at the prestigious Princeton university where they surveyed 450,000 thousand people in 2010 analyzing people of all different income brackets to try to understand how they could measure their overall level of happiness or satisfaction. This study found that happiness does increase with wealth but the correlation peaks at earning 750000 thousand dollars per year. This same study also found that the lower a person’s annual income falls below 75,000 thousand dollars a year the unhappier that person felt when unpleasant situations arise. These unpleasant situation could be divorce, losing a loved one, loneliness, or having bad physical health. Having a lower income also limits the things that a person could do that directly influenced their level of happiness. Like how much time they could spend with their families, travel, or buy materialistic things. This study also concluded that The measurable positive effects of money seem to diminish the more money that you make over 75000 thousand dollars a year.
4. A study done by Purdue university In 2018 that surveyed more than 1.7 million people throughout 164 countries, and found that the $75,000 per year was the ideal amount of money for someone to maintain emotional well being. Emotional well being basically refers to a persons every day level of satisfaction but $95,000 thousand dollars per year was ideal for what they call “life evaluation,” which measures how a person thinks and acts on their long term goals and aspirations.
5. Well since there have not been studies done specifically on the happiness of Americans based on their income over a long period of time done by a reputable source I took to my Facebook store and polled the question to some of my amazing friends and put of 200 views on my store poll 31 people said that money can buy you happiness and 9 people said that money cant buy you happiness. Now I understand that this is a very small sample size but I do want to thank everyone who actually answered my question because without yall this video would be a lot shorter than it already is so for that I appreciate yall.
