12 Best Games For PC In January 2020 | Best PC Games Of The Month
We like to round up our best PC games at the end of the year, but misses out on loads of great games for PC. So this is the best games for PC in January 2020 - the 12 games that gave us the most fun over the last 31 days. From Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to the creature battling of Temtem, here are the best games for 2020, so far.
Even in the relatively quite month of January we found it tricky boiling down hundreds of games to 2020’s best PC games (so far). Each member of the team picked our four best PC games, but we’ve missed loads of top games - that’s why we rely on you in the comments to suggest all the hidden gems we’ve missed or should be playing. Don’t just write “I hate all these games” - that is no good for anyone - give us something better and we’ll play it and see if you are a person of great taste.
Our favourite games in January 2020 were quite hard to predict: okay, Monster Hunter World Iceborne was a shoo-in we’ve been waiting for for several months, but there were big surprises. The fifth and final episode of Kentucky Route Zero was a really pleasant announcement, concluding a seven year journey and blowing Astrid’s mind in the presence. Alice, on the other hand, got a small surprise in the form of The Sims 4 Tiny Living stuff pack - just another DLC, sure, but with some cool rule twists and diddy furniture to make it possible.
DEEEER Simulator and Speaking Simulator take us from the sublime to the ridiculous, and then we have Journey To The Savage Planet which is a bit of both: a very silly game full of farting birds, but also a tremendous first-person Metroid-alike. If you saw our early impressions of The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners you’ll know how surprised we were by that one - not a trashy tie-in, but a meaty VR adventure that makes the zombie stabbing feel great.
One thing to note: we haven’t ranked these early PC games of the year - if they appear on the list, they are worth your time. Feel free to offer your definitive rankings for your own best games of January 2020 in the comments below.
We’ve had a great time on Rock Paper Shotgun covering PC games in 2019 - many of the games in this list have an even longer video associated with them. They’ll pop up throughout the video, but here are some links to longer videos on the best games of January…
