Ulysse Nardin Watches – Maxi Marine
https://www.crmjewelers.com/vip/ – Ulysse Nardin Watches – Maxi Marine
Ulysse Nardin watches are pretty unique. No other luxury brand compares in style and design to the Ulysse Nardin watch brand.
The Swiss watch manufacturer has been around for over 150 years (the company was actually founded in 1846)! Ulysse Nardin is well known for the production of marine chronometers. You will notice that their watches generally have an oceanic kind of look to them.
On this video, I will review two watches from the brand: the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chrono and the Maxi Marine Diver.
But before we get into the meat of this review, I just want to play spoiler and inform you that I had a little fun with the pronunciation. To simultaneously please both my French and American brethren, I actually fused into one both versions of the Ulysse Nardin pronunciation. I wonder how many anal retentive pitchforks will be raised as a result of my grammatical blasphemy!
OK, so back to the Maxi Marine watches...
When it comes to the Ulysse Nardin diver, I can't say that it'll be my pick for die-hard dive watch fans. Even though it is technically a diving watch, it doesn't have the same dive status in my opinion as a Rolex Submariner for example. It's clear caseback and screwed down cap are not features that I would look for in a diving watch.
I would rather use the watch for a fancy dinner and to wear something different every once in a while; not for diving.
Ulysse Nardin watches come in a variety of materials...from titanium to stainless steel. From the Maxi Marine line, one of the models that I really like is the Hammerhead Shark Limited Edition.
When you're handling a Ulysse Nardin watch, be very careful with the strap. As I mention on the video, you need to babysit the strap, otherwise the buckle could dig into the rubber strap and tear it.
If you like investing in watches (and there are actually some brands and models that make good investments), I wouldn't categorize Ulysse Nardin as a brand with a lot of investment merit. Consequently, make sure that when you buy a UN watch, you do so only because you like it and want to spice up your watch collection with a little variety. Don't buy Ulysse Nardin watches for their potential to appreciate in price over time. Since they are not really investment pieces, always try to buy the watches at great discounts below retail. Always!
As far as the Watch Game goes, both the Maxi Marine Diver and Chrono models shown on the video are attractive pieces to add to your watch collection. It's a way for you to veer off a bit from the traditional watch brand path and into something a bit more bold and daring. If purchased at an attractive price, they can actually make your Watch Game a bit stronger.
