Going head-to-head in the snow, of course! With a wide assortment of mini games and characters to play as, shooting balloons and making death-defying leaps as Sonic the Hedgehog it doesn't get much better than this.

4. Amped 3 - 2K Sports

Like an ice lolly in sub-zero temperatures: you'll either love Amped 3 or you'll hate it to death. And the reason why, other than the stiff controls and often infuriating objectives is because it isn't just a snowboarding game. It's much more of an experiment. A psychedelic trip on extreme slopes with all kinds of wackiness thrown about the place. Pure genius in all honesty.

3. 1080° Snowboarding - Nintendo

The most well designed, true-to-form snowboarding game of its time. Ten Eigthy Degrees Snowboarding delivered a previously unthinkable sense of speed and urgency combined with incredibly simple controls and brilliant level design. Paired with a bitchin' soundtrack and total appreciation of its craft, Ten Eigthy Degrees Snowboarding really was the Tony Hawk's of snowboarding games. Back when Tony Hawk was still the shizzle of course.

2. Ski or Die - Electronic Arts

A mini game-laden mixed bag from old-school Electronic Arts. Ski or Die was without question a huge influence on so many winter games that followed. The systems might be ancient, but that didn't matter: there was tonnes of fun to be had thanks to its massive variety and inventiveness! With such irresistible and timeless mini games, you won't be kicking that bucket any time soon.

1. SSX 3 - Electronic Arts

Taking the superb SSX Tricky and building upon every available element, SSX 3 was and still is the ultimate winter sports game. Blazing down the slopes and stacking insane combos, the fun simply snowballs and snowballs until you end up with a big cuddly snowman bursting with awesomeness. Damn, that would have made a sweet unlockable character!
