VIDEO UPDATE: Due to updates in the Kindlegen program, there is no longer a need to run kindlegen for the first time, and no kindlegen.ini file needs to be (or will be) created. Instead, options for compression and etc will popup during creation of your kindle file and can be selected then.

The first step in creating an Ebook is choosing which Ebook Creator to work with. There are tons of different programs you can use, both paid and free, with an assortment of different features, pros, and cons.

Sometimes it can be hard to know which one to choose, as they can be very different and require tons of time beforehand to familiarize yourself with how it works.

I've tried many different Ebook creating programs, some free and some paid, and Sigil is by far the best. It has more functionality than many of the paid programs, and only requires light HTML and CSS knowledge.

In today's episode of Second Drafts, we'll be going over how to setup Sigil to create Kindle Files before we import our html file into it. Watch on so you're set for the next in the series!
