Making a Marking Gauge or Two or Three

I needed a marking gauge for a class I was going to be taking so I decided to make one. I watched a few videos and I have the links attached below to the two (well, three) I ended up making. I made the first one(s) but used a nail for the spur/pin and it didn’t mark well. I could have replaced that with a different pin but I decided to make a totally different gauge altogether. This second gauge has a ruler on the stem which protects the stem from the pressure caused by the thumbscrew. It also has a little piece of aluminum rod that protects the stem from the thumbscrew, so that stem is never gonna get marred by the thumbscrew!
I learned a lot making these gauges including that these can be made a gazillion ways!
