Virtual Archaeology: Educators create a game-based virtual reality field school
VRchaeology gives students at the University of Illinois a chance to learn the skills normally acquired at a remote archaeology field school site. The class includes all the elements students would encounter at an actual dig site. VRchaeology (http://vrchaeology.com) makes field archaeology accessible to students with physical or economic limitations, enabling them to pursue a career in archaeology that otherwise would be out of reach. Researchers, students and educators talk about the class and the challenges of recreating an archaeological dig in virtual reality. For more information about the class, see “Team creates game-based virtual archaeology field school.” (https://news.illinois.edu/view/6367/805645)
