Previously prefab home builders, Gayle Zalduondo and her partner Andrew Kelly were approached by a customer asking them to build something out of a shipping container. They rose to the challenge and made it their mission to continue creating these new spaces. Little River Box Company repurposes shipping containers into bars, restaurants, retail stores and compact homes, all in an effort to meet the need for affordable, sustainable construction. The shipping containers that once changed the world through globalization now change the world as a new type of community space. Today, the Little River Box Company team is leaving their impact on the world by giving new life to shipping containers and the community around them.
