Back to Elon. You have to admit that entrepreneur Elon Musk has a bit of a James Bond mentality in his psyche. He’s taken risks ever since he hit paydirt with an ecommerce site that eventually led to the formation of PayPal, in which the former South African owned a share.
Against all odds, he took a huge gamble in launching his own spacecraft manufacturing company called SpaceX. Launching everything from supplies destined for the International Space Station to a Tesla car, SpaceX has made great strides in privatizing the final frontier, although it’s a long way from showing a profit.
Ditto for Tesla, which Musk also owns, but he’s likely to hit black ink soon, given that his automobile company leads the international pack in sales of its electrical vehicles. And with all the green technology features that makes his cars competitive, Musk also shows off an edge that enhances his daring and mysterious side.
Perhaps it’s his way of showing off what he considers to be value added products, as the features in most Tesla vehicles border on the unusual. Most of them don’t exactly accentuate car performance, but in his mind, it’s not just how the car runs, it’s the experience inherent in getting behind the wheel.
And Musk doesn’t exactly go out of his way to publicize what’s hidden in a Tesla. But for his more adventurous customer base that revels in the Easter eggs concealed in his electric vehicles, it’s all part of the thrill of owning a Tesla.
Unlike the amenities packed inside the Aston Martin that 007 drives, Musk’s Tesla lines don’t have rocket launchers, machine guns, or ejection seats built into them. But as this video points out, one fun part about owning and driving a Tesla is being surprised with the discoveries hidden from view.
