This is an older style saw blade that was heavily crusted over with rust and paint and god knows what else, after a thorough sanding I gave it a quick coat of clear to help fill any leftover voids in the metal.

I started by sketching some letters on with a Stabilo then started laying down the paint. Being left handed I find it easier to work backward so I don't have to worry about dragging my hand through the wet paint.

After I laid down the base color I started putting in the second shade of orange and to blend the two colors together I was painting with two brushes and blending with the original orange color.

Put on a blue drop shadow and then traced everything out with a black outline. I then put grey space filler boxes down so I could later go and letter on top of with a nice teal shade of blue, lined the middle in sublime green and drop shadowed those with purple.

then the rest is just details really.
